Huge original Italian re-release poster for the 1958 film adaptation of Eugene O'Neil's "Desire Under the Elms", directed by Delbert Mann and starring Sophia Loren, Anthony Perkins and Burl Ives.
This poster dates from a re-release of the film in the 1960's and features a stunning, close-up illustration of Sophia in all her glory. This artwork is superior to the original release posters for this film and is one of the best Sophia poster images!
Total size of the poster is approximately 55x78 inches and like all Italian posters of this size, it was printed in two separate sections that measure approximately 39"x55" each. Condition is very good: there is some normal wear along borders, cross-folds and fold lines (including some tears and tiny paper loss), and toning along the folds and borders (typical of Italian posters of this vintage). There is an approximately 7 inch tear just to the right of Sophia's face (in the hair) and some tape has been used on the reverse to repair it.
