    Description

    The first three of twelve wonderful samurai movies about the famed character Nemuri Kyoshiro, played by Ichikawa Raizō, produced by the Daiei Film Studio, on three AnimEigo laserdiscs. Based on the novels by Shibata Renzaburo. Taking place in Tokugawa-era Japan, in the late 18th and early 19th centuries, so rather later than the usual samurai epic, but no less wonderful. The three movies included here are:
    The Chinese Jade (1963) directed by Tanaka Tokuzo
    Sword of Adventure (1964) directed by Misumi Kenji
    Full Circle Killing (1964) directed by Yasuda Kimiyoshi
    All three discs are in excellent, barely used condition and play flawlessly. There are wonderful and extensive liner notes included in each. A great collection.
