    The Blue Angels first public performance in the F-4 Phantom was at MCAS Yuma Arizona on 15 March 1969. The last performance of the Blue Angels flying the F-4J Phantom came to a tragic end on 26 July 1973 at NAS Lakehurst, New Jersey. A catastrophic accident claimed the lives of 3 Blue Angels (2 Pilots and a Crew Chief) during an arrival practice session mid-air collision.
